Passed peacefully away at the Interfaith Citizen's Home, Carbonear on Friday, February 4, 2011, Joan Griffin (nee O'Grady) of Carbonear, age 85 years. Predeceased by husband: James; brothers: Thomas, Dennis and Joseph; sisters: Kate and Philomena. Leaving to mourn, seven daughters: Joan (Glenn) Clarke, Victoria, Philomena (John) Parsons, Harbour Grace, Rose (Cyril) Fahey, Carbonear, Mary (Gary) Curnew, Victoria, Jeanette (Brian) Holwell, Corner Brook, Marilyn (Gary) Rumsey and Lorraine (Mark) Lilly, both of CBS; ten grandchildren: Jamie (Shelley), Amy (Ted), John (Nicole), Corrina (Tony), Charlene (Wade), Megan (Jon), Matthew, Kyle, Brad (Jaclyn) and Chris; eleven great-grandchildren: Tyler, Kaitlin, Jacob, Jayden, Keira, John, Devan, Benjamin, Olivia, Nicholas and Nathan; one brother: Michael (Phyllis) O'Grady, Gander; brother-in-law: Peter Griffin, Carbonear; sister-in-law: Emily O'Grady, Carbonear; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear on Saturday, February 5 from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m., Sunday, February 6 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon, 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:30 p.m. and Monday, February 7 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Funeral mass to take place on Monday, February 7 at 2:00 p.m. from St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, Carbonear. Interment in St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Cemetery, Carbonear.
