Leo Clarence Bennett - 83, of Woodside Road, Canning, Kings County, passed away, Friday, January 28, 2011 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Woodside, he spent his life in the community in which he was born. He worked as a mechanic and serviced much of the heavy equipment and farm machinery in the area. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Isabelle Margaret (Greencorn); a daughter, Linda Gagnon, Toronto; three sons, Lawson and Gary, both of Upper Dyke; Donald, Nichols Road, Kentville; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one great great grandchild. He was predeceased by a daughter, Geraldine Annabelle; two sons, Wayne Leonard and Clarence Robert. Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, February 1, 2011 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 2, 2011, Reverend Doctor Judith Saunders officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in the Hillaton Cemetery, Kings County. Family flowers only, by request. Donations in memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
