NEW GLASGOW - Elizabeth Ann "Betty" (nee Stewart) Greene, entered the gates of heaven on Friday, Feb. 4 as the result of a tragic accident.
She was the daughter of the late John "Jack" and Isabell (MacNeil) Stewart.
Betty had been a resident of New Glasgow most of her life. She was employed at The Evening News in New Glasgow retiring after 40 years and then went to work at the Country Inn and Suites in New Glasgow.
She is survived by daughter, Sheri Greene, Lantz; son, Gary (Kathy) Greene, Stellarton; grandchildren, Gary and Hannah Greene, Stellarton; sister, Mary (Calvin) Fraser, Garden of Eden; several nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place. A public memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow, with Rev. Charles McPherson officiating. A reception will follow at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Pictou County SPCA or a charity of your choice.
