December 22, 1932 - February 1, 2011 - With great sadness the family of Dorothy Martin announces her passing. Dorothy was a dearly loved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter sister and friend. Dorothy was born in Fredericton NB, and was a true "Maritimer" at heart. She discovered British Columbia and moved to Coquitlam BC, and made many close friends there. Dorothy always cared for everyone, and would put their needs before her own. She loved to read, garden, cook and entertain with friends and family. She never missed a Canucks game. She will be remembered for her warm heart, sense of humour and spunk. She will be dearly missed by her children Betty Anne Downie (Orland), Robert Martin (Debbie), Cathy Hay (Dennis) and Donna Martin. By her sisters Evelyn Pugh, Jeannie Smith, Annie Kryhul (Harry). Dorothy was extremely proud of her grandchildren, Timmy, Sherry, Melanie, Ronnie Lynn, Stacey, Shane and Damon, 10 great grand children and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends and special friend Rod Ballingall.
Burquitlam Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. A memorial service will be held at a future time. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society or the SPCA.
