MOSS - Margaret “Madge” Ellen Moss passed away in Swift Current, SK, on July 4, 2009, at the age of 84 years. Madge was born on the homestead at Glen Kerr on January 17, 1925, to Tom and Sarah Potts. She was the youngest of five children and attended both Log Valley and Lady Bank Schools. Madge married Alfred Gordon Moss in October of 1949. They farmed in the Glen Kerr district. Madge continued on the farm after Gordon’s passing and retired to Swift Current in 1982. She started a second career working at the Pioneer Co-op until retiring at the age of 65 years. Madge enjoyed gardening, fishing, bingo, casino trips, playing music and of course baking for the family. She was a Life Member of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary – Branch #56. Madge was predeceased by her husband, Gordon in December of 1970; her parents, Tom and Sarah Potts; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Lou and Hulda, Bob and Gladys, John, Art and Zella; step sister-in-law, Joyce; nephew, Tom Potts; and great niece, Morgan Weppler. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, daughters, Carol (Floyd) Oster of Medicine Hat, AB, and Marlene of Swift Current, SK.; sons, Bob (Lois) of Morse, SK, Barry of Regina, SK, and Tom (Judy) of Swift Current, SK; five granddaughters; three grandsons; three great grandsons; two great granddaughters; and numerous cousins in Saskatchewan and abroad. A private family graveside service will be held at Log Valley Cemetery. A memorial tea was held on Wednesday, July 8, 2009, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the Morse Community Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Madge’s name may be made to the Palliser Regional Care Centre, or the Swift Current Care Centre.
