Ronald J. M. Collins, 62, of Moncton, passed away at his residence on Sunday, February 6, 2011. Born in St. Stephen, he was the son of the late Teddy and Elvina Maillet. Ron retired from the Canadian Armed Forces (2004) as a cook and transport driver. He was instrumental in starting the Royal Ark Mariners in Moncton and was a member of Acacia Lodge #49 F & AM and the OES Fidelity Chapter, Riverview, member of the 8th Canadian Hussars, the Moncton Shrine Club, the Moncton Lions Club, the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #6 and was past master of the Salisbury Lodge #20. Ron was also involved in several other groups and organizations. Ron will be sadly missed by several loving nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.
Visitation at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Wednesday from 7 to 9 pm. Acacia Lodge #49 F & AM Memorial Service at 6:45 pm. Funeral Service will be held at St. George's Anglican Church, Thursday, February 10, 2011 1:00pm, Rev. Chris VanBuskirk officiating. Interment, Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.
