Bruce Bond, 50, of St. George, Ont., formerly of Glace Bay, passed away on Friday, Feb. 4, at his home.
Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of Frances Muriel (Clark) Bond and the late John Wesley Bond.
He was a self-employed carpenter.
He was a former member of Warden United Church.
Bruce is survived by his mother, Frances Muriel (Clark) Bond; beloved companion, Laura Larion, St. George, Ont.; stepson, Reggie Baker, Ontario; sisters, Lorraine (Wallace) McNutt, Truro, Beverly (William) Byard-Jackson, Truro, Lesley (Sheldon) Shaw, Glace Bay, April (Robert) Gouthro, Glace Bay, Cheryl (John) O'Leary, Glace Bay; and brothers, Edward (Kathy) Glace Bay, and Dwight (Marilyn), Glace Bay. Bruce is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews who were touched by the love he showered upon each and every one of them and who will never forget the joy of knowing Uncle Bruce.
He was predeceased by his father, John Wesley Bond and sister, Cynthia Joyce in infancy.
Visitation for Bruce will be held Thursday, Feb. 10, 2011, from 7-9 p.m. at Patten Funeral Home, 71 Union St., Glace Bay. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Friday in the Patten Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Clayton Austin officiating. Cremation has taken place and burial will be held at a later date in Greenwood Cemetery.
