The death occurred Sunday, February 6, 2011, at Dr. John Gillis Memorial Lodge, Belfast, of William (Bill) Elliott Hunter, of Orwell Cove and formerly of Brockville, Ontario, born August 5, 1924.
Bill spent his career teaching at the Brockville Collegiate Institute and Vocational School in Brockville, Ontario, and retired to the family home on P.E.I.
Husband of the late Marjorie (Beaty) Hunter. He is survived by daughter, Joan Clow (Carl Fairbairn) of Ottawa, Ontario; and sons, Dave Hunter (Linda) of Orwell Cove, Alan Hunter (Joyce-deceased) of Mississauga, Ontario, and Steve Hunter (Catriona) of Cardinal, Ontario; grandchildren, Dr. Jen and Brian Clow of Ottawa; Matthew, Ian and Andrew Hunter of Mississauga; Fiona and Keir Hunter of Cardinal; and Jeffery Hunter (Crystal) of Orwell Cove; and great-grandfather of Charlotte and Molly Hunter and Keagan Clow.
Resting at Hillsboro Funeral Home, 2 Hollis Ave., Stratford, for visitation on Friday, February 11, 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at St. Andrew's United Church, Vernon Bridge, Saturday, February 12, at 2 p.m. Interment will take place later in the church cemetery.
