TEICHRIB - Pearl went to be with the angels on June 5, 2009, at the age of 87 years. She was born in Ponteix, SK, on July 15, 1921, and was the youngest of the three girls. She is predeceased by her husband, George Teichrib and her sons, Bert (Wilbert) Teichrib and Roy Teichrib; her parents, Albert and Roseanna Lariviere; sisters, Almonza “Cookie” Stevenson and Cecil Briand. Beloved mother of William (Elaine) Teichrib of Swift Current and Deanne (Tom) Hammond of Medicine Hat. Pearl was proud of and had great pleasure and enjoyment with her twelve grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Treating each one special and with kindness. Along with her immediate family, Pearl’s precious memory will be cherished by her twelve grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews, daughters-in-law, two brothers-in law, two sisters-in-law and many special friends. Pearl was raised and educated in Ponteix, where she met George and at the age of nineteen they were married on June 16, 1941, in Swift Current, SK. They farmed in Aneroid later moving to Swift Current, where Pearl worked at the Swift Current Hospital. They later moved to Penticton, BC, then to Medicine Hat in 1984 where she worked at the Medicine Hat Hospital for many years until her retirement. Pearl was a wonderful wife and a loving mother. There are people in this world who are sent here for a very special purpose and Pearl was one of them. She was always happy, spreading sunshine wherever she was, joking, laughing and bringing people together. She had a passion for cooking and sewing. She loved gardening and spent many hours outside. Pearl most enjoyed her time with family and friends. Everyone always had a warm welcome in her home for a hot meal and a warm bed. As years went on she spent many happy hours on the phone with everyone, we know her friends will miss her dearly. For the past number of years, Pearl enjoyed her summers at Lac Pelltier, SK, with her family and the new friends she would meet while there. She would sit by the camp fire for hours enjoying a hot coffee and baileys until the wee hours. She had many friends at the CNIB, Reno Clinic, Wellington and Veiner Center to mention a few. She was a kind, considerate and gentle person, always concerned about the welfare and safety of others. She was a little lady with a big heart and will always be a big inspiration to her family.
God saw you getting tired
And a cure was not to be
So He put His arms around you
And whispered 'Come with Me.'
With tearful eyes
We watched you suffer
And saw you fade away
Although we loved you dearly
We could not make you stay.
The memories of Pearl will be forever cherished by her family. The funeral service was held in Holy Family Parish (1451 Strachan Road SE) on Friday, July 10, 2009, at 1:30 p.m. with Fr. John Nemanic officiating. Interment followed in the Hillside Cemetery.
