Marie Hruska, born in Prague, 1922, passed away peacefully at the Victoria County Memorial Hospital, July 1, 2009.
Cape Breton became her new and final home six years ago when she came to join her daughter, Jitka Zgola and her partner Gilbert Bordillon.
She was embraced lovingly by her two communities, Westmount and St. Ann’s Bay.
Heartfelt thanks to the members of both these neighbourhoods who made her feel so at home; and special thanks to Dr. Chow, Dr. John Ritter and the staff of Victoria County Memorial Hospital who gave her wonderful care and, ultimately, comfort in her last days.
A memorial service will be held later in July at St. Ann’s Bay, Victoria County.
