It is with great sadness the family announce the death of Jeff Blakney of Upper Golden Grove; which occurred at home surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer at his residence on February 14, 2011. Born 1957 in Toronto, ON. Jeff worked for NB Power at Coleson Cove for over 33 years. Devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend; he loved to fish and spend time with his grandsons. Jeff is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 35 years Mary (Clark) Blakney of Upper Golden Grove; three daughters Jennifer McEachern (Derek) of Upper Golden Grove, Cynthia Blakney- Rigley (David) of Charlottetown, PEI and Samantha Blakney of Upper Golden Grove; two grandsons Bailey and Ayden; close to being his brother Brian Campbell (Wanda) of Quispamsis, mother and father Elmer and Pauline (Campbell) Blakney of Rothesay; three sisters; mother-in-law Diny Clark of Saint John; nieces, nephews and friends.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation on Wednesday, February 16 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, February 17th, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. Private family interment to be held at a later date.
