Shirley Elizabeth Read
1927 – 2011

Shirley was born in Melfort, SK on March 23, 1927 and she passed away on February 14, 2011 at the Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert, SK. Shirley would want to be remembered as a caring wife, mother and grandmother who put the love of her family above all else. Shirley will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Beverley (George) Lidster, Norma (Ernie) Briginshaw, Karen (Michael) Schweighardt and Sharen Read; her sons Calvin (Debbie) Read and Kirby (Helen) Read; her sister Hughena (Earl) Watkins; her brother Stanley (Hilda) McLean; her grandchildren Jeff, Janet, Shannon, Thomas, Richard, Jason, Erin, Dennis, Elizabeth, Tim, Tammy and Tim and her great grandchildren Joshua, Emma, Paige, Read, Jordyn and Lauren. She was predeceased by her husband Norman Read; her parents Hugh and Elizabeth (nee Stewart) McLean; her sisters Edith (Walter) Brazier, Gladys (George) Richards, Helen (Collie) Arkell and Marion (Dave) Smith and her brother Neil McLean. Funeral Service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, February 18, 2011 at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, 575 – 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK with The Very Reverend Kenneth O. Davis officiating. Interment will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to Saskatchewan Cancer Agency, Patient Lodge, 20 Campus Drive, Saskatoon, SK S7N 4H4.
