The death of J. Harry Gagnon, age 78, of Halifax and formerly of Amherst, occurred at the QE II, Halifax on Wednesday, February 16 2011. Born in Amherst, he was a son of the late Alphie and Laura (Bourgeois) Gagnon.
Harry will be sadly missed by his brother, Earl (Madge), Amherst; sisters, Catherine Quesnell, Amherst, Margaret Fagan, Amherst, Theresa Gorman, Miramichi, NB and Betty Ann Pettigrew (George), Amherst; numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Stanley, Leo and Donald.
Harry's remains have been entrusted into the care of the Furlong Jones Funeral Home, Amherst (902.667.8777) from where a time of visitation will be held Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Prayer service will be held at 8 pm in the funeral home. Funeral mass will be celebrated from the Holy Family Parish Church, Church St., Amherst on Friday, February 18, 2011 at 10 am. Burial in the St. Charles-Nativity Cemetery in the spring. www.furlongjones.ca
