It is with great sadness that the family of the late Nellie Hayes of Curling announce her passing on Thursday, July 9, 2009 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 95 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her four children; Betty Alden of Plattsburgh, New York, Bernice (Aaron Gallant) of Stephenville, Joseph and Eva (Kevin McCarthy) of Corner Brook, twenty four grandchildren, twenty eight greatgrand children, her sisters; Elizabeth (Stewart Morley), Mary, (Cecil Davis), Helen Reid, May (Donald) Marshall, Flo Randell, brother Fred (Cora) Randell, sisters-in-law; Betty Randell, Ethel Randell, Valerie (Kevin) Pumphrey, Joan (Harry) Sparkes and a large circle of nieces, nephews, friends, and residents and staff of the Lohnes Complex. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph Hayes, her parents George and Elizabeth Randell, her daughter Helen Gallant, her granddaughter Sarah Gallant, her grandson Jim Hayes, her son-in-law John Alden, her brothers; George, Lloyd, Roy and John Randell, sisters; Eva Adams, Stella Newhook, Joan Jayne, Toots Silmarie and Dorothy Randell, her sisters-in-law; Bertha Yeager, Bernice Tomasko and brother-in-law Thomas Hayes. Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2009 from 7-9 p.m. and Sunday, July 12, 2009 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at Country Haven Funeral Home 167 Country Road. Funeral service will take place on Monday, July 13, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. from Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church Curling with Father Bernard Buckle officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. Flowers are gracefully accepted or memorial donations may be made to the Sacred Heart Church Fund.
