The death occurred peacefully, with family by his side, at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Charlottetown, on Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011, of Roy Dickieson, of New Glasgow, P.E.I., age 91.
Roy was the beloved husband of the late Esther (Matheson) Dickieson; loving father of Wayne (Flora), North Rustico, Carol (Everett) MacLellan, Pleasant Valley, Helen (Earl) MacDonald, Brackley Beach, Barbara (Clif) Foster, Calgary, Alta., Dr. Herb (Kathleen), Howlan, father-in-law of Janet Norgrove, Antigonish, N.S.; and very proud grandfather of 18 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Roy is also survived by his younger brother, Leith.
Besides his wife, Esther, Roy was predeceased by his parents, Percy and Annie (Bulman) Dickieson; his son, Dana; grandson, Riel; granddaughter, Charlotte; and sisters, Ethel (Reagh) Bagnall, Alice (Borden) Ling and sister-in-law, Phyllis Dickieson.
Resting at Central Queen’s Funeral Home, New Glasgow, for visitation on Saturday, Feb. 19, 2011, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at New Glasgow Christian Church on Sunday, Feb. 20, 2011, at 2 p.m. Interment later in New Glasgow Cemetery.
