It is with the heaviest of hearts, that we the family, announce the passing of our darling mother, Olga Kendall, on Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, with her daughter by her side.
Born in Grand Falls, N.L., she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Lavenia (Oliver) Day.
Mom was a very devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a loving and caring lady who loved life. Everyone who met her truly loved her and she will be greatly missed.
Olga is survived by her sons, Jim (Grethe), Gordie, John, David (Anna), Gerald (Debbie); her daughter and best friend, Eileen (Stephen) Gillis; brothers, Jim and Alfie; sisters-in-law, Roxie and Maureen; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Arthur, son, Robert Wayne in infancy, sisters, Lillian and Tillie, brother, Bob.
There will be no visitation by request. Cremation has taken place.A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 19 at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home Chapel, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney, with Pastor Sheldon Chant officiating. Interment will be at a later date.
