DAVIES - Jessie Mathilda passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2009,at the Elrose Health Center, Elrose, SK, at the age of 83 years. Jessie was born September 2, 1925, in Eston, SK, to Anna and William Davies. She grew up on the family farm 6 miles Northwest of White Bear, SK, and went to school at the Neuve Chapelle country school till grade 9. She then worked on the family farm. Jessie enjoyed farming and had a fondness for animals including her cattle, cats and other pets. She liked to play bingo and enjoyed putting puzzles together. She also enjoyed helping the neighbors out in any way she could. Jessie leaves to cherish her memories her three sisters, Elsie Monson, White Bear, SK, Gladys Williamson, Eston, SK, and Cora (Svend) Christianson, North Battleford, SK; brother, Lloyd (Helena) Davies, White Bear, SK; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Jessie was predeceased by her parents, Anna and William Davies; brothers-in-law, Magnus Monson and Ivan Williamson; as well as one nephew, Brian Davies. A funeral service was held for Jessie on Monday, July 6, 2009 at 2:00 PM from Lacadena United Church with Reverend Jeannine Cline officiating. Music was provided by organist Dianne Minogue with Glenn Walker singing a solo. Niece Audrey McKenzie provided the eulogy. Active pallbearers were Keith Day, Neil Minogue, Dan Martin, Wade Luckinger, Ron Dryland, and Lewis Kallechy. Ushers were Darrel Gray and Don Gray. Interment followed at the White Bear Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, The Lacadena United Church or a charity of your choice. Culham/Bowers Funeral Home were entrusted with the arrangements.
