Alton Pirie of Tilley passed away peacefully at the Victoria Glen Manor on February 16, 2011.
Born in Tilley on July 10, 1925, he was the son of the late Cecil "Ray" and Irene (St. Peter) Pirie. He leaves behind his daughters Connie Malm of Perth-Andover, Beverly Kreller (Bruce) of Hope, BC, Evelyn Cote (Carl Bowmaster) of Hillandale, Laurie Pirie (Gary Ruff) of Upper Kent; his sons Theodore Pirie (Dorine) of Fredericton, Cecil Pirie (Clara) of Perth-Andover, David Pirie (Anne) of Hinton, AB, Andrew Pirie (Mona) of Pokeshaw, NB, Kevin Pirie (Beatrice) of Caribou, ME, Phillip Pirie (Beverly) of Tilley, J. Alan Pirie (Lori) of Rowena; 18 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild; brothers-in-law Amos Kelly of Perth-Andover and Ronald Prosser of Centerville; his sister-in-law Florence Watson (Paul Stewart); several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; his wife Arline Pirie (Watson); his sisters Arvela Kelly, Iona Pirie, and Alice Prosser; his brother Leroy Pirie; his grandson Jeff Pirie; daughter-in-law Laurie Pirie; and son-in-law Mark Malm.
Resting at Brunswick Funeral Home with visitation on Monday, February 21, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at 2 pm from Trinity Anglican Church, Perth-Andover. Rev. Bonnie LeBlanc officiating. Interment will follow at St. George's Anglican Cemetery, Lake Edward, NB. For those who wish, donations to the NB Alzheimer Society, to St. George's Anglican Cemetery, or to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brunswick Funeral Home, Perth-Andover.
