It is with great sadness that the King family announces the passing of our grandmother, in her 89th year on February 17, 2011. Born in Mulgrave, Nova Scotia. Mary worked at the Colchester Hospital, Truro, NS for several years and later moved to Toronto where she worked for Long Term Care in housekeeping. She resided in Toronto for the past 50 years and it was always her desire to move back to Nova Scotia until her recent illness.
Along with her parents she was predeceased by her only son, James (Jimmy) King, brothers Frank King, Jim Talbot, sisters Margaret & Lucy Talbot
She is survived by her grandchildren: Christina King (Gary McNutt) North River, NS; Derrick King (Crystal Arseneau) Truro, NS; Sarah King (Mike Brown) Grand Prairie AB; great-grandchildren: Danny King, Hilden, NS; Taylor -Jane Brown, Grand Prairie, AB; daughter-in-law, Jenny King, Belmont, NS; sister, Evelyn Talbot, brother, Wally Talbot, NS & long time friends Joan King and Brian Burton, ON
She was a proud grandmother and loved her grandchildren dearly. She will be forever remembered for her generosity, kindness and captivating smile. Special gratitude to her cousins, Ann Allan, Catherine, Valerie & Margaret Whalen & Robert Paris, ON who helped care for her over the past year during her illness.
Cremation has been intrusted DeMarco Funeral Home, Toronto Ontario. Burial & private family service at a later date.
