YOUNG, William Joseph, 82, Shelburne, passed away in Roseway Hospital on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 with family by his side. Born in Halifax, Bill was a son of the late William and Emma (Loveridge) Young. He was a Veteran of the Korean War, having done three tours of duty. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and enjoyed spending time with all his family. He loved cooking for his family and one of his greatest joys was cooking Sunday dinner for his family. He is survived by sons; Robert Osborne; Billy, Joseph, Wendell and Patrick Young; Douglas (Gloria) Drysdale; and Manuel Young; daughters, Cynthia (Jim) Perry; Sherry Young; Bonnie (Bently) Pierce; Gina (Rocky) Young; Katherine Young; Sarah (Russell) Schumacher; sisters, Sherry; Mary; Trudy; 19 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Kathleen; brothers, Gordon, Edward and Patrick; sisters, Carol, Rene and Lillian. A memorial service was held on Friday, February 18 in H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, with Rev. Norma Mitchell officiating. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Association or the Lung Association of Nova Scotia.
