FUREY, Irene (nee Coles) —60, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones on Thursday, July 9, 2009, after a lengthy battle with brain cancer. Born in Savage Cove, NL, on June 29th, 1949, she was the eldest child of Randell Coles and Edna (Way). She is remembered with many loving memories by her husband of 38 years, Jim Furey; daughters: Janine (Christopher) White, Joanne (Harry) Cooper; her cherished grandchildren: Kathleen and Jane White; her seven brothers and sisters: Bob Coles (Betty and children Miranda and Robbie), Sheila Dredge (Leslie and children Rodney and Darcy), Trudy Matchim (Gilbert and daughter Paula), Wade Coles, Lloyd Coles (Trudy and children Kaitlin and Chantelle), Sharon Coles (Tony and children Tony and Tori); Anne Croxen (and children Kobe and Kayden) and many other treasured family and friends. The family would like to express their gratitude to the many family, friends and care workers who helped Irene during her illness. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation on Friday and Saturday from 2 p.m – 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Prayer Service will take place on Sunday, July 12th, 2009 at 12 noon from Caul’s Chapel. Cremation to follow. Funeral Service will take place at a later date in her home town of Savage Cove. Her ashes will be buried in St. Mark’s cemetery among the many generations of family and friends that have passed before her that called Savage Cove home.
