FORBES, Lila Matilda (Cameron) of Upper River John Road, passed away peacefully and quietly in the Glades Lodge Nursing Home, Halifax on February 21st, 2011. She was the daughter of the late Leslie and Stella (Mingo) Cameron also of the Upper River John Road, Colchester County, NS. She was predeceased by her husband, Howard and is survived by her son Eric of Dartmouth. A special thank you is extended to Jason Smith, a fireman in Barrie, ON for his continued visitations and support over the years. Lila was an avid homemaker and housekeeper. She enjoyed knitting, quilting and cross stitching. For many years she worked as a student aide at both the elementary and junior high school levels in Pugwash. She liked going to bingo and playing cards with her friends. She especially enjoyed the many people she socialized with at the Truro mall on a regular basis. Special thanks and appreciation to Dr. Michael Glasgow, nurses and all support staff at the Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital, Tatamagouche for their constant professionalism, personal care and emotional support throughout her entire stay in hospital, as well as to Dr. Catheryne Neehan and to all the staff members at the Glades Lodge in Halifax for their hard work and vigilance in seeing to her care and well being during her stay in their facility. Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation by request. A private burial service will be held at Forest Hill Cemetery, Denmark at a later date with Rev. Morley Bentley officiating. Donations in Lila’s memory may be made to the Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital Foundation, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or charity of choice. Burial arrangements have been entrusted to MacLeod’s Funeral Home, River John, NS.
