The death of Robert Bruce Ellick, loving companion of Linda Kierstead occurred on Monday, February 21, 2011 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, after a brief illness. Born 1946 in Saint John he was the son of the late Kenneth and Mabel (MacFarlane) Ellick. Besides his parents he was predeceased by stepson Brett Kierstead. Bob worked for Irving Pulp and Paper for many years retiring in 1999. He was a motorcycle enthusiast, was an avid hunter, enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. In addition to his loving companion Linda he is survived by his sons Jeff Ellick (Debbie) of Saint John and Scott Ellick (Natasha) of Bald Hill; step children Julie Cummings (Colin) of Quispamsis and David Kierstead (Ashley) of Edmonton; brother Brian Ellick of Fredericton; grandchildren Oren, Luke, Chelsie, Jacob, Heather, Joseph, Kelsey, Cora-lee, Liam and Alice; nephew Ben and nieces Sara and Kathleen; his best canine friend Jessie; and many friends.
Following cremation, visitations will be held from Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) on Thursday, February 24, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, February 25, 2011 at 10 a.m. Donations in memory of Bob made to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. www.fundyfuneralhome.com
