With great sadness, we announce the passing of our dear father, Lorne Lane, on Feb. 11, 2011, who is now at peace after a courageous struggle with cancer at age 86.
Lorne is survived by his three beloved daughters, Linda Johnson (David) of Ottawa, Audrey Ranni (Ernie) of Windsor, Ont., and Lorna Irwin (Rick) and their son Christopher of Barrie, Ont. He is also survived by one sister, Marjorie MacDonald (Rev. Donald) of Sydney, N.S.
He was predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Myrtle Lane of Sydney, N.S., two sisters, Noreen and Verna and one brother, Kenneth. Lorne was also the proud grandfather of six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Lorne was known for his quick wit and humour and a twinkle in his eye. He had a love for working with time pieces which his family will treasure. Lorne was a dedicated worker for 30 years at Wellington Place apartments.
Cremation has already taken place. He will be truly missed by his family.
