1930 - 2011 - The death of J. Bonar Brown, of Glassville, occurred on February 21, 2011 at River View Manor, Bath. Born on October 12, 1930, he was the son of the late John Malcolm and Lillian (MacDougall) Brown and husband to Marilyn (Flemming) Brown. Bonar loved the outdoors, farming and dogs. He drove school bus for 25 plus years, was a member of the Northern Carleton Hospital Board and a sales rep. for Carleton Mutual Fire Insurance Company. Bonar lived a well balanced life between family, faith and community. He loved his family dearly. Bonar is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marilyn; Children, Allison Brown (Jennifer), Sharon Charlton (Harry), John Brown (Nancy), Jay Brown (Randi), Kevin Brown (Gayle), Fred Brown (Lisa) and Kendall Brown; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents and one grandson, Kyle.
Visitation will be held from the L.R. Giberson Funeral Directors, 207 Burnham Rd. Florenceville-Bristol on Thursday, February 24, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held on Friday, Feb. 25, 2011 at 2:00 pm from the L.R. Giberson Funeral Chapel with Rev. Mary Taylor officiating. Interment will be in the Glassville United Cemetery in the Spring.
