Scott Gordon Lewis, 40, of Mercer Street, Sydney, passed away Sunday, July 12, 2009, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Born in Sydney, he was the son of the late Owen and Loretta (Prosser) Lewis.
Scott graduated from UPEI with a BA, B.Ed, and was employed with the Cape Breton-Victoria Regional School Board.
Scott is survived by his wife, Carolyn (McNeil); sons, Travis, Todd and Scott, at home; and his pal, ‘Lewis’. Also surviving is his brother, Owen (Janet); sisters, Philene (Wes) Simms, Janis Pearson, Sydney. He is also survived by his mother and father-in-law, Louise and Ronald McNeil of Glace Bay.
Besides his parents, Scott was predeceased by brothers, Barry, Shawn and Todd.
Visitation will be held at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held Wednesday at, July 15 at 11 a.m. in St. Alban’s Church with Rev. Fred Rhymes officiating.
Memorials may be made to the St. Alban’s Memorial Fund.

The last few years of Scott’s life have been a challenge for Scott, Carolyn and their boys. It was with the generosity and support of friends and family that have made this time easier to endure. Carolyn and the boys thank each one of you for your friendship and kindness during this time.
Scott is now safe in the arms of his heavenly family. Peace at last.
