Isabel (Dede) Marjory Johnson passed away in Extendicare on February 20, 2011 at the age of 92. She was born in Moose Jaw on March 9, 1918. She attended King George Public School and Central Collegiate as well as Briercrest Bible Institute. She worked for E.R. Eaton Fur Shop as a fur finisher and taught at Singer Sewing Machine Company in Moose Jaw. Then moved to Ottawa where she taught Home Economics until her retirement in 1974. She returned to Moose Jaw and worked as a fur finisher at Fur Town. She was an active member of the Alliance Church and a member of the Teachers Christian Fellowship Group. She is predeceased by her parents, Walfred and Anne Johnson, sisters, Wilma Davey and Beryl Hetherington and brothers Scottie and Maurice Johnson. She is survived by many nieces and nephews and their families, Barb (Jack) Ross, Betty Ann (Scott) Chalmers, Moose Jaw; Bob (Gail) Johnson, Campbell River; Dale Johnson, Calgary; Ken Johnson, Regina; Dan (Barb) Hetherington, and Barbara Ruth Tymos of Nanaimo; Carol (John) Young, Halifax; Joy (Laurie) Stibbards and Jim Davey of Toronto; Doug (Cindy) Johnson, Jim (Brenda) Johnson and Kathy Johnson of Regina. A Celebration of Isabel’s life will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at 2pm at the W.J. Jones & Son Family Centre, 262 Athabasca Street East. Pastor Keith Gonyou will officiate. Interment will take place at Rosedale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Michael Philip Young Memorial c/o IWK Health Centre Foundation P.O. Box 9700 Halifax, Nova Scotia B3K 6R5.
