Roderick Bainbridge

Bainbridge, Roderick K., 79, of Dieppe, passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Tuesday evening February 22, 2011 following a lengthy illness. Born in Sackville, NB, August 16th, 1931, he was the son of the late Ralph and Pearl (Tingley) Bainbridge. Rod served in the Air Force (RCAF) and from there was an electronic technician for the Department of Transport until he retired. Rod enjoyed traveling but was most happy at his trailer in McGraw Brook and Flat Landing. He enjoyed fishing, four wheeling, working in his garage and sitting by the bonfire. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 55 years Georgina (Lirette). He leaves to mourn five daughters; Sherry of Dieppe, Gail (Robert) of Dartmouth, Donna (Dave) of Dartmouth, Kim of Moncton, Susan (Donny) of Kelowna, BC, as well as his sister, Mona Johnson of Sackville, NB, a brother Stephen Bainbridge of Chester, NS, 16 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son Jeff, granddaughter Amanda, and great grandson Logan.
Resting at Fair Haven Funeral Home with visitation on Saturday evening February 26th, from 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, on Sunday February 27th, 2011 in the chapel of Fair Haven Funeral Home. Reception to follow in Garden View Reception Room. Interment in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Diabetic Association, would be appreciated.
