August 3rd, 1964 – July 11th, 2009 — Passed peacefully away at the age of 44 on July 11th, 2009 in the presence of her loving family, after a courageous three- year battle with breast cancer. Predeceased by her mother Mary (Breen) Garberg (1973), father Ole Garberg (1987), nephew Terry Mayo (2009), niece Megan (1994) and niece Mary Delaney (1982). She leaves to mourn two wonderful children: her darling daughter Renee and her awesome son William and their father William Melee; her wonderful family, six sisters and three brothers: Mary, Sheila (Randy Steed), Barb (Terry Mayo), Linda, Cathy, Judy (friend Mike Power), her brothers: Edward (Toronto), Jimmy (Cindy Burt), and her wonderful twin brother Shawn (Darlene Sinnott); her other special family the Melee’s: Bill and Millie, Gary, Deanne and Lindsay (Montreal), Steve, Donna and Garrett (Moncton), Shelly, Melissa, Michael and a very special aunt Jean Rose; her special niece Natasha Miller and nephew Michael Miller both of whom were with her since the day they were born; Nanny Fine’s two little sweeties Tiffany and Brooklyn Connors; her lovely niece Tracey Connors; special niece and nephews: Rodney, Ryan, Chad, Shawn, Jimmy, Shane, Jordan, Monica, Crystal, Tanya, Laurie, Dee, Judy, Paul, Larry and Darrell; many other great-nieces and nephews, cousins, aunt and uncles, too many to mention here; all of her friends and co-workers from Christine’s Place: Chris, Tina, Mary, Dr. Luv, Bud, Trish, Rita and Von. Thank you for the eight years she worked there, she met a lot of nice people from many different places. It was a great place to work - the people put a smile on her face! (Little Jumbo Dale – Gerry Neil) and Peter Tracey – they were the two that made her jump, scream and laugh all the same time, that’s what made her job fun and enjoyable. As well, we can’t forget all her friends from Torbay. Many lifelong friends for many years: Darlene Garberg, Deanne Melee, Donna Tucker, Barbara Bragg, Christine Dunne, Tina Meaney, Gail Bradbury, Cindy Bavis, Dave Husk and a very special lady Mrs. Edith Husk; her best friend and sidekick, friends like no other, Barbara Bragg, her husband Neil, and her two special girls Lois and Jenny; a very special man in her life and a dear wonderful friend, Gonna Jones. Thanks to all the people who helped her along her journey; Dr. Hutton and Bev Penney, Dr. McCarthy, Dr. Thompkins, Dr. O’Dea, Dr. Hogan and their teams. Thank-you to the staff at the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Clinic, the nursing staff at 6 West St. Clare’s Hospital. A very special person dear to her heart, Liz Fuller, who started off as her study nurse - thanks for all the little chats whenever she saw you, it meant a lot to her. A special gift given to her by a special person, her little buddy, her baby, he was everything to her – her little dog Bosco and also the cute Miss Kitty, both were great company. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home LeMarchant Road. Visitation on Tuesday from 7 - 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. Funeral service to take place on Thursday, July 16th, 2009 at 2 p.m. from Caul’s Chapel. Cremation to follow. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in her memory may be made to Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Centre.
