The death of Ruby Elizabeth Russell, of West Saint John occurred on Wednesday February 23, 2011 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born 1919 in Bayfield, NB she was the daughter of the late Robert and Clara (Knight) Whittle. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her son George Russell, granddaughter Sharon Russell, brothers Edgar Whittle, Harold Whittle and sister Laura Colpitts. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Ruby was a member of the Radolph Seniors Club, St. Georges Anglican Church and past member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 69. She will be sadly missed by her loving family and friends. She is survived by her son Mervyn Russell (Pam) of Halifax, NS; daughter Darlene Vincent (Douglas) of Quispamsis; daughter-in-law Rose Goldsmith of Hamilton, ON; six grandchildren Bob, Krista, Liam, Sean, Michelle and Angela; 12 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) with visitations on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday February 26, 2011 at 2 p.m. Interment will take place at a later date.
