Alice Milton
Alice Mary Milton, 96, of Kenneth Spencer Memorial Home and formerly of Hillsborough passed away peacefully at her residence on February 24, 2011. Alice was born in Hillsborough on February 11, 1915 the daughter of the late Edward and Marion (Wheeler) McCoubrey. Alice was a housewife and took great pride in raising her family. She was a member of the First Hillsborough Baptist Church and sang in the Silver Chords Choir. She was a Pythian Sister for 50 years. Alice enjoyed bowling and was a member of the Hillsborough Mixed Bowling League for many years. She was a very special lady who had a great sense of humour, she loved to laugh and had a way of making everyone around her feel comfortable. She will fondly remembered by all her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by her daughter, Lorraine McCullough (Everett) of Saint John ; her five grandchildren, Deborah, Donna, Don, Cathy and Tim and seven great grandchildren. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her beloved husband, Jocelyn Milton; son Donald Edward Milton; six sisters, Irene, Elsie, Helen, Laura, Vera and Flora; two brothers, Jim and Norman.
Honoring Alice's own wishes there will be no visitation. The funeral service will be held at the Albert County Funeral Home on Saturday, March 5th, 2011 at 2:30pm with Rev Dean MacDonald officiating. Following the service the family will be meeting with relatives and friends for further fellowship and for refreshments at the funeral home. Interment will be held in the Grey's Island Cemetery in the spring. Donations to the charity of donor's choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
