Eleanor Kirkpatrick

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Eleanor G. L. (Boole) Kirkpatrick of Fredericton, NB with her family at her side on Thursday, February 24th, 2011 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. She was the wife of the late Vernon James Kirkpatrick and daughter of the late Frank and Frederica (Blizzard) Boole. Born in Fredericton on November 18th, 1937 Eleanor was a lifelong and active member of St. Margaret's Anglican Parish serving as a member of the ACW and church choir and a volunteer for many church youth activities. She was a member of the Forest Hill Home and School Association during her childrens elementary school years. In the mid 1990's she retired from F. W. Woolworth's after working for them over 30 years. She loved travelling and enjoyed spending many summers at Maquapit Lake. Eleanor is survived by her two sons, Jim (Katie) Kirkpatrick of Smiths Falls, ON, Roger (Angie Lawrence) of Fredericton and one daughter Joanne (Gerard) Longobardi of Florenceville; a proud grandmother to Stuart Kirkpatrick of Hinton, AB, Brianne Kirkpatrick of Toronto, ON, Zachary and Jacob Kirkpatrick of Fredericton, NB and David and Hilary Longobardi of Florenceville, NB; two sisters, Fran Spinney (Hazen) of Fredericton and Eileen Corey (Garfield) of Fredericton, NB. She was predeceased by her husband Vernon, and her parents. The family wish to extend a special thanks to the staff of the ICU Unit at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, in particular Melanie and Bonnie for their care and attention to both Eleanor and her family.
Visitation will take place at St. Margaret's Anglican Parish, 775 Forest Hill Road, Fredericton on Sunday, February 27th, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. The memorial service will take place at St. Margaret's Anglican Parish on Monday, February 28th, 2011 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Canon Jon Lownds officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be: Richard Plaster, Craig Spinney, Gary Blizzard, Jeff Mofford, Constable Stuart Kirkpatrick, Zachary Kirkpatrick, Jacob Kirkpatrick and David Longobardi. Interment will take place at a later date in the Forest Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations made to St. Margaret's Anglican Church or The Chalmers Regional Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
