Mark Sperry
Mark Sperry of Calgary, AB, passed away on Monday, February 21, 2011 at the age of 47 years. Mark was born in Fredericton, NB, and was raised in Oromocto. He graduated from Oromocto High School and later attended College in Grand Fall, NB, where he received an Electrician Certificate. He worked for eight years at the Oromocto Golf and Curling Club before moving to Calgary in 1991. He worked at the Calgary Stampede grounds for nearly ten years where he received many certificates of recognition. For the last six years he worked at Walmart where he was an assistant manager. Mark thoroughly enjoyed working on his computer and playing video games and especially spending time with Kim, Jr. and the rest of his family. Mark is survived by his mother, Novella Marie LeBlanc (Eddie) of Lincoln, NB, one brother, Jay Sperry of Victoria, BC; two sisters, Karylann (Darryl) Palmer of Fredericton and Kim (Robert “Jr”) MacPherson of Calgary; three nieces, Aleisha, Stephanie and Angel; two nephews, James and Christopher and one great niece Twila, as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his father, James Sperry; grandparents, Victor and Bertha Hannan.
Visitation will be held at Oromocto Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held in the Oromocto Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at 2:00 pm Rev. Bob Foster will officiate. Interment will be held in the St. John’s Anglican Church Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial tributes may be made to NB Heart and Stroke Foundation.
