At the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Friday, February 25, 2011 of Hugh Gotell, Veteran of Second World War, of Mount Herbert, age 87 years.
Beloved husband of the late Evelyn Gotell (nee McCarron) and loving father of Charlene Howard (John A. MacLean), Joanne Packman (Jim), Maureen Griffin, Charlie Gotell (Cheryl), Leonard Gotell (Barb) and Michael Gotell (Janice).
Hughie will be greatly missed by his 10 grandchildren, Lori Ann Ferrish (Trent), Stephen Howard, Matthew Packman, Amy Packman (Chaylon), Jaime Lynn and Jeffrey Griffin, Philip and Julie Gotell, Kelsey and Justin Gotell. He was great-grandfather to Nolan Jeffrey Ferrish and Jude Brewster.
He was predeceased by his parents, Jack and Mary Gotell; sister, Agnes Currie; and his brothers, Howard and Wilfred Gotell.
Resting at Hillsboro Funeral Home, 2 Hollis Ave., Stratford. Private visitation and prayers for family and friends will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 1 at 9 a.m., then transferred to Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Stratford, for celebration of funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow later at the church cemetery.
