MILES, Hubert– WWII Veteran (14 May 1919-18 February 2011). It is with great sadness that the family of the late Hubert Miles of Fortune announces his passing at The Blue Crest Home in Grand Bank on Friday February 18, 2011 at the age of 91. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are wife Hilda of 64 years; sons: Stewart (Alma) of Fortune, Paul (Arlene) of Grand Falls-Windsor, and Keith (Gerry) of Calgary; daughters: Dianne (George Bo) Collier of Fortune and Brenda (David) Bungay of Grand Bank; brother Wallace Miles of Pasadena; 7 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; plus a large circle of family and friends. Predeceased by his parents George & Eliza Ann Miles. Resting and visitation took place from Wiseman’s Funeral Homes in Fortune on Saturday February 19th from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. & 7 p.m. – 9 p.m.; and Sunday February 20th from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. & 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Funeral Service took place on Monday February 21, 2011 at 2:30 p.m. from The United Church in Fortune. Interment followed at The United Church Cemetery in Fortune. In Hubert’s memory, donations may be made to Daffodil Place.
