Hobson, Lillian Christena - 80, Pictou and formerly of Middle Stewiacke, passed away July 12, 2009 in Aberdeen Regional Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Green Oaks, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Gladys (Phillips) Hobson. Lillian was a member of the Middle Stewiacke United Church and a lifetime member of UCW. She is survived by son, Gordon (Sheila), Middle Stewiacke; granddaughter, Margaret Hobson (Reuben Barkhouse), Middle Stewiacke; step-grandson, Ross (Tanya) Milligan, Sydney; step-great grandchildren, Serena and Hayley; brother, Ernie (Donna), Green Oaks; sisters, Eva Bentley, Ontario, Ethel (Layton) Burris, Hilden; sister-in-law, Lois Hobson, Truro; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brother, Charlie; brother-in-law, Blair Bentley. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 7-9 pm; funeral service on Thursday at 2:00 pm, both in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro with Rev. Larry Harrison officiating. Interment in Fisher Creek Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Maritime Oddfellows Home, Pictou or the Middle Stewiacke United Church.
