Moira Nelson

The death of Moira Annie Nelson, 82, Amherst occurred peacefully on Sunday, February 27, 2011 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre in Upper Nappan.
Born on February 17, 1929 in Bradford Yorkshire, England, she was the eldest daughter of the late Ernest and Bessie (Baggley) Chadwick.
Moira came to Canada as a war bride of Hilton C. Nelson.
She enjoyed her community and took great pride in being part of numerous organizations, such as a member of the Ladies Curling Club, Fenwick U.C.W. as well as an active member of First Baptist Church, Amherst and the Senior Choir.
She will be always lovingly remembered by her daughter, Jennifer- Jean Dedam (Harold), Mirimachi, NB; sons, Jim (Betty), Amherst and Peter (Bernice), Truro, NS; her only sister, Jean (Peter) Lawton, New Glasgow, NS; nine grandchildren, Ryan, John, David, Moira, Jason, Charlene, Meghan, Daniel and Holly; five great grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family.
Besides her parents, Moira was predeceased by her husband, Hilton C.; and her brother, James.
Family and friends are invited for a time of visitation on Monday, February 28, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. with funeral service on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m., Rev. Byron Corkum officiating all in Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst (667-9906). Interment will take place in the spring, beside her husband in the Fenwick Cemetery.
