Leonard Albert Christiansen, loving husband of Mary (MacLellan) Christiansen passed away on Sunday February 27, 2011 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born 1938 in Saint John he was the son of the late Leonard and Myrtle (McCullief) Christiansen. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his sister Helen Farris. Leonard worked as a Labourer for Flood Construction for over 30 years, retiring in 1999. He loved to fish and hunt and country western music. He especially loved to spend time with his family. Besides his loving wife Mary of 52 years, he is survived by his sons Stephen (Eva), David (Andrea) and Darryl; daughters Nadine Irvine (Richard Wallace) and Holly Buckley (David); sister Mary Seberry; 10 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; several cousins, nieces and nephews and many friends.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) with visitations on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Peter’s Catholic Church on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at 11 a.m. Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery at a later date.
