Passed peacefully away on Sunday, February 27th, 2011, in the presence of her loving family, Ruth Amabel King, RN, age 84. Ruth is predeceased by her parents Robert and Bertha Morgan; sisters: Dorothy, Bertha, Vera and Muriel; brother Cecil Morgan. She leaves a lifetime of happy memories with her three children: Jeff (Jeanette Andrews), Janet, and Stephen (Lisa Wagner); four grandchildren: Stephen, Louise, Brian and Ethan. Ruth also leaves many nieces and nephews; her classmates of the General Hospital School of Nursing Class of 1948, her former nursing colleagues at the General Hospital School of Nursing and the Waterford Hospital, and special friends Florence Williamson and Sue Fever. The family extends their heartful gratitude to the staff at St. Patrick’s Mercy Home and Ruby Manor Personal Care Home for the excellent care and compassion they showed to Ruth over the past five years. Cremation has taken place. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue, with visitation on Monday, February 28th, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday, March 1st, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service to take place from St. Thomas Anglican Church on Wednesday, March 2nd, 2011 at 2 p.m. Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Forest Road.
