Arnold George Gallant

The death occurred at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Sunday, February 27, 2011 of Arnold Gallant, veteran of the Korean War, of Whisperwood Villa and formerly of Toronto Road, age 77.
Arnold was the son of the late Ernest and Annie (Doiron) Gallant. He was the beloved brother of Maynard (Tina), Ray (Linda), Kenny (Donna May), Cody (Elinor), Barry (Luanne), Noreen Yeo (Al), Helen Gallant (Don Delaney), Norma Callaghan, Mary LeClair (Frankie), Doris MacPhail (Bill), Verna McCloskey, Lois Gallant (Doug), Karen Boland (Gary) and Sandra Gauthier (Derrick). He is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces.
Besides his parents, Arnold was predeceased by his brother, Wendall; and brothers-in-law, Clifford Callaghan, Tommy McCloskey, Elmer Gallant and Norman Cormier.
Resting at Central Queen’s Funeral Home, 2538 Glasgow Road, New Glasgow, for visitation on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 from 7 to 9 p.m.
Branch # 13 of the Royal Canadian Legion will hold a service of remembrance at the funeral home at 6:45 p.m.
Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Anne’s Roman Catholic Church, Hope River on Thursday, March 3, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. Interment at a later date in the church cemetery.
Due to severe allergies, please refrain from wearing scented products.
As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the St. Anne’s Cemetery Fund would be appreciated.
