COSTIN (Redmond), Marjorie Frances – February 19, 1954 - October 20, 2008 It is with great sadness that we wish to announce Marjorie’s passing, after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. Her unrelenting struggles and refusals to give up were great sources of strength and wisdom to those of us who helped and cared for Marjorie. The word “braveheart” springs to mind. Marjorie was an avid gardener, taking great pride in her rose gardens. Marjorie is survived by her husband and soul mate of 32 years, William; son, Andrew; daughter, Jillian; mother, Marjorie, St. John’s, N.L.; brother, Kevin (Sophia), St. John’s, N.L.; Edwin (Jenny), St. John’s, N.L.; sisters: Lynn (Ray), Toronto, Ont.; Doreen (Ron), Doha, Qatar; Patti (Robert) Montana, USA; several nephews and nieces, and of course, Golda and Jinx. She was predeceased by her father, Michael and brother Michael. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation by request. Funeral mass is scheduled in Amherst, N.S. and a local celebration of Marjorie’s life will be held in St John’s, N.L. at St Pius X Church on Saturday, October 25 at 11 a.m. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, a donation to a favorite charity would be appreciated.
