It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden but peaceful passing of Joan Andrews, age 78, at the Health Sciences Center on March 1st, 2011. Predeceased by her parents Albert and Ella Andrews, brothers Peter, Chriss, Phil, Albert and Jack and sisters Sarah Trawick Hann and Sevilla Owczarack. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her two surviving sisters Mercedes Robinson of Chester, Virginia and Julie Alam (John) of South Orange, New Jersey. is the beloved aunt of a very large circle of nieces and nephews in Canada and USA. She is especially remembered by nieces Terri and Patricia Andrews, dear friends Lodie and Joe Boulos, Carol Reade, Vince Collins and Mona Johnson. Joan was a loving daughter, sister, cousin, aunt and friend to many. She worked for many years with Simpson Sears and dedicated much of her life to caring for family members. Joanie was a great homemaker and a marvelous cook, who loved music, cards and conversation. She was also a dedicated member of the Lebanese community and the matriarch of the Andrews (Andreas) family. The family will receive friends at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road, St. John’s, NL on Wed, March 2nd 7 -9 p.m., Thurs, March 3rd 2-4 p.m. and 7 -9 pm and Funeral Mass will take place at St. Patrick’s Church on Friday March 4th at 9:30 a.m. Interment will occur on Sat.
