Etta Lounsbury
Etta Margaret Lounsbury (nee Burgess), 91, formerly of Glenvale and Petitcodiac, passed away at the Jordan Lifecare Center on March 2, 2011. Born in Wisconsin, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Clara (nee Campbell) Burgess. Etta was a member of the Petitcodiac Baptist Church, and a past member of Eastern Star. She operated Lounsbury’s Restaurant in Petitcodiac for several years. Etta is survived by her husband, Harold Lounsbury; her daughter, Barb Harper (John) of Petitcodiac; her daughter-in-law, Marjorie Lounsbury of Petitcodiac; her sister, Beatrice Killam (Arnold) of Salisbury; her brother, Richard Burgess (Marguerite) of Cold Brook, NS; her sister-in-law, Glenna Burgess of Petitcodiac; her grandchildren: Allen (Judy), Peter (Anna), Travis (Tina), Trent (Tamara), Todd (Kate); her great-grandchildren: Talia, Tea, Alysha, Teagan, Tanner, Joshua, Jessica, Stefania, and Julian; as well as by many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Etta was predeceased by her first husband, Eldon Lounsbury in 1969; her son, Stanford in 1984; her sisters: Ada Burgess, Myrtle Colburn and Edith Ricker; and her brothers: Henry and Francis.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm; the funeral service will be held on Saturday at 2:00 pm with Rev. Rick Thomas and Rev. Bob Campbell presiding, all in Armstrong’s Funeral Home, Petitcodiac. Interment will be held in the Maplewood Cemetery at a later date.
