Jack Arthur Fawcett, 98, of the Jordan LifeCare Centre and formerly River Glade, passed away at the Moncton Hospital Wednesday, March 2, 2011. Born in River Glade, he was a son of the late Walter and Agnes (Steeves) Fawcett. He retired in 1976 as a Maintenance Supervisor at the former Jordan Memorial Sanitorium. Jack was a World War II Veteran with the Royal Canadian Air Force Medical Corps serving in England. He attended the Salisbury United Church and was a member of Harmony Masonic Lodge and Past Master with the Salisbury Masonic Lodge No. 20 F & AM. He is survived by his children Brian (Pennie) of Moncton and Karen Fawcett (Joe Coates) of Shediac ; 8 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his wives Kathleen and Marjorie; sisters Josephine Flewelling and Jennie Fawcett; brothers Andrew, Lionel, Uz and Eugene. Jack was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Resting at Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) visitation is Friday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 with a Masonic Service at 6:45 and from where the funeral will be held Saturday, March 5 at 2 pm with Rev.
