EVELYN FOWLER

Evelyn Louise Fowler, (nee Zinn), passed away peacefully March 2, 2011 at Grace Hospice in Regina, with her family by her side. Evelyn was born June 15, 1918 in the Moose Jaw district to Edward and Cora Zinn and raised in the Clinton district on the family farm. Evelyn married Ken Fowler February 11, 1941 moving to McCleod, AB where Ken was serving in the RCAF. When Ken went overseas in 1944, Evelyn returned to Moose Jaw to be near family. After the War they lived in Moose Jaw, then moved to live at Buffalo Pound Filtration Plant, where Ken worked until retirement. Again making their home in Moose Jaw for many years where Evelyn made a beautiful, loving home. She enjoyed gardening, bowling, dancing, and loved their many trips to Arizona. She was also a great one for knitting and tatting and gifted family with lovely keepsakes over the years. Evelyn loved her family above all else and her mission in life was to provide a loving home. Her hospitality extended to many good friends over the years who were always welcome. In 1998 Ken and Ev moved to Regina and made many new friends at their condo complex. Together they walked at the Victoria Square Mall and found more friends. October 2010 Evelyn moved into College Park Seniors Residence again finding wonderful new friends. Evelyn was predeceased by her parents Cora and Edward Zinn, brothers Jack, Lyle, Barney and Jim, and son-in-law Donald Cooper. She is lovingly remembered by her husband of 70 years, Ken; daughter Sharron Cooper and grandchildren Dianne (Rob), and Mitch (Mima); daughter Bonnie (Don) Johnston and grandchildren Scott (Marie-France), and great-grandsons Nathan and Connor, and granddaughter Jennifer (Andrew); brothers Doug (Betty) Zinn, Bill (Daisy) Zinn; and many nieces and nephews. The family are most grateful for the loving care Evelyn received from the staff of Regina Wascana Grace Hospice, and her Doctors Williams, Heroux, Alport, Johnson and Klein.

A Celebration of Evelyn’s life will be held at W. J. Jones & Son Chapel on Monday, March 7, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. Della Ferguson will officiate. Private Memorialization will take place at Rosedale Cemetery. For those so wishing, memorial donations to the Regina Wascana Grace Hospice, 50 Angus Road, Regina, S4R 8P6, would be appreciated.
