HELEN BEATTY

Born In: Finland
Born: November 22nd, 1919

Passed in: Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada
Passed on: February 28th, 2011

Our Mother Helen Beatty passed away peacefully at Kamloops Sr. Village with family by her side February 28, 2011.

Mom will be lovingly remembered by her son Ross (Betty Ann), daughter Beverly, daughter Merilee (Dennis), her five grandchildren Sheri-Lynn Bissonnette (Mike), Marvin Beatty, Candace Manser (Terry), Carmen Lyne and Scott (Diana) Wilensky. Six great grandchildren, Jason and Trevor Purpur (Ross), Jesse, Caitie and Devin Manser (Merilee) and Zackary Wilenksy (Bev) did not have the good fortune to know Grandma due to the challenges of Alzheimer's. Her niece Janet Jorgenson will have fond memories of time spend with Auntie Helen. Also left with wonderful memories of their Canadian Mom were her "Australian daughters" Margaret and Edna.

Predeceasing Mom were her loving husband Fred (2001), son Ronnie (1963) sister Emmie and brother John.

Mom was born in Finland on November 22, 1919 and immigrated to Canada as a young girl. She lived most of her life in Chase; with a brief time spend in the North Thompson area. For the past 15 years Mom has lived in Kamloops as she required special care due to Alzheimer's disease. She was lovingly cared for by the wonderful folks at Ponderosa and Kamloops Seniors Village. Our family will be forever grateful for that.
Prior to her marriage Mom was employed as a telephone operator, and later worked on a part time basis at the family business Beatty's Dept. Store in Chase.

She was a devoted volunteer with the OAPO in Chase for many years, helped with reading programs at Chase Secondary School was actively involved in the Anglican Church, and was always there to lend a hand to family or friends.

However the job she excelled at was being a Mother. She was devoted to not only her children and their activities, but also enjoyed watching her grandchildren grow up and was extremely proud of each of them.
There will be no service by request.

A Graveside Service will be held in the summer, followed by an Open House at Ross's home in Chase at which time family and friends are invited to stop by and share memories with her family. The date and time will be announced when determined.

Donations in Helen's name can be made to the Alzheimer's Society or charity of choice.
