JEFFERY, Gertrude Eliza – 94, of Yarmouth, passed away in Yarmouth Regional Hospital on February 27, 2011. Born on March 12, 1916 in Forbes Point, Shelburne Co., she was a daughter of the late Edward and Eunice (Forbes) Nickerson. Gertrude was a former member of the South Ohio United Baptist Church and a member of the Women’s Missionary Society. She was a homemaker all her working life. She is survived by daughters, Eunice (Howard) Mood, South Ohio; Gaile (Raymond) Randall, Kemptville; son, Alton Hamilton, New Jersey; daughter-in-law, Sandra; brother, James, Shelburne; sisters, Sybil Nickerson, Kingston; Mamie Forbes, Forbes Point; Barbara Scott, Barrington Passage; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by first husband, Frank Hamilton; second husband, Carl Jeffery; son, Garth; sisters, Elsie Zwicker, Vivian Harding, Ruth White and Audrey Amiro; granddaughter, Barbara. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Yarmouth. Visitation took place one hour prior to the funeral service, which was held Wednesday, March 2 at 4 p.m. in Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel, Pastor Rick Warner officiated. Interment followed in Forest Glen Cemetery. Family flowers only, please.
