Evelyn Mae Thompson, 89, Petitcodiac, passed away at the Jordan Lifecare Center on March 5, 2011. Born in Forest Glen, she was a daughter of the late Archie and Eva (nee Prosser) Steeves. Evelyn was a member of the Petitcodiac Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Colin Thompson of Petitcodiac; her daughter, Jean Alward (Bill) of Mapleton; her sons: Donald Crandall of Madison, South Dakota; her sister, Audrey Ayer (Bill) of Stoney Creek; her brother, Lloyd Steeves of Mississauga, Ontario; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; as well as 28 nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Evelyn was predeceased by her daughter, Roselyn Crandall; her sons: Sherman Crandall and Hanford Crandall; her sisters: Florence MacEachern and Beulah Jollymore; her brothers: Clarence, Nelson, Gilbert, and Raymond; grandson, Rodney Harrison.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 7 to 9 pm; the funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 2:00 pm with Rev. Rick Thomas presiding, all in Armstrong’s Funeral Home, Petitcodiac.
