1919 - 2011 - Doreen Loewy passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on March 4, 2011. Born in Summerside, PEI she was the daughter of the late Daniel Albon and Ella Mae (Malone) Gillis. She will be missed by her son Robert (Lois) Loewy of Moncton, two daughters, Marilyn Purdy of Halifax and Valerie (Gordon) Burke of Moncton, five grandchildren; Derek Loewy, Darin Loewy, Kristen Purdy, Trevor Burke and Erika Burke, three great grandchildren; Maxwell Turner, Shenoa Loewy and Angenie Loewy. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Doreen was predeceased by her husband Harry Gordon Loewy (1952) and her sister Audrey Chlow (2010).
In respect with Doreen’s wishes, their will be no visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Bernard’s RC Church on Friday, March 11th, 2011 at 11:00 am followed by a reception in the church hall. Interment will be held in PEI at a later date. Memorial donations in Doreen's memory may be made to the SPCA or the charity of the donor’s choice. A book of condolences may be signed at www.fairhavenmemorial.ca
