The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside on Saturday March 5, 2011 of Earl Craswell MacKay of Indian River, aged 77 years. Born in French River on Sept. 6, 1933 son of the late John “Jack” and Bessie (Harding) MacKay. Husband of Eileen (Anderson Lucas) MacKay. Father of Daniel MacKay, Halifax. Step-father of Michael Blades, Vancouver, Gary Blades St. John’s, Kathy Lucas, Dartmouth, Bob Lucas, Minnesota and Bill Lucas, Pictou. Step-grandfather to Adam, Yanek, Alusha, Jennie, April, Daniel, Rebecca, Lorne, Katie, Clayton and several step-great grandchildren. Brother of Elsie Stewart (late George) Charlottetown. Brother-in-law of Eleanor MacKay, Little Harbour, N.S. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and cousins. The family wishes to express many thanks to Glen and Barb MacKay for being with them through Earl’s passing. Predeceased by his first wife Heddy (Depauw) MacKay, sister Mayme Champion (late Lester), brothers Hollis MacKay (late Bertha) and Paul MacKay. The family in keeping with Earl’s wishes, will receive relatives and friends for a celebration of his life at his home 786, Highway 20, Malpeque Road on Wednesday March 9 commencing at 2 p.m. If so desired contributions may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
